Comparison Writing about BUGS!!!!

 Same and Different 

Room 27 are learning to identify the differences and similarities between different things. We are looking at the different features we can see. 

First we brainstormed all of the features we could identify/see on or about our bugs... 

Then we used a speaking frame to share our ideas, about the differences between these bugs, with a partner.

Harold from Life Education came to visit...

This week Room 27 had two special visits from Harold the Giraffe. He came to visit our school with Misty, his friend. Room 27 learnt all about how to be a good friend and how to handle friendship problems. 

We learnt all about what good friends do, we know they are kind, caring, play with us, love us, look after us and tell the truth. In Room 27 we are learning to be good friends, so we can all have fun at school. Most importantly, we are learning how to deal with problems on the playground or in class when people forget how to be a good friend. This means we have to use our problem solving and compromising skills. 

Room 27 thought the changing lights in the bus were one of the best parts! 

We got to dance to a video Harold had made! 

Harold came and talked to us about what makes him a good friend. He said he had to make good choices to play with all his friends. 

Positional Language in Maths

Dallas is learning about positional language in maths. He made a tower out of blocks and moved the bears to different places or locations. 

Dallas put the bears on top of the tower!

Using exercise verbs in our writing

 Christian used different verbs to write a story about the different types of exercise he does. He highlighted the verbs he used!

For exercise I like to go swimming. I like to go under the water. 

We had a visitor...

Room 27 had a visit from our school Dental Nurse, Shirley. She came to talk to us about how to care for our teeth, how to clean our teeth and showed us what to eat to keep our teeth healthy.

We wrote questions to ask Shirley. The red group wanted to know "Why we have to brush our teeth twice a day?"

Our Coding Afternoon

Room 27 had a coding afternoon on Friday. We learnt how to programme different characters to move in different directions. These are some of our first attempts.

Writing at home

We have had a lot of children enjoying writing at home.

They are very proud to share their stories with the class and are becoming confident speakers.

I went to Samoa and I played with the dogs and I was doing the Samoan dance.
